Whelp, it happened - AGAIN. We uploaded a video clip from a livestream to YouTube Studio, it’s sitting as a “Draft” for about 12 hours - UNPUBLISHED, waiting to get titled, thumbnailed & scheduled, when we receive this in our inbox:
As is customary for us, when we receive one of these “Your Video Was Removed” emails (as we have multiple times in the 28 months that our channel has existed), we didn’t respond immediately.
We did some intel gathering and then submitted an appeal, which we completed at around 6:30pm ET Saturday.
YouTube’s email claims that we showed footage from a past event, claiming it was a current event. We CLEARLY did not do that during this clip. Any event footage shown either did not reference WHEN the footage was shot, or it was accurately described.
& were reading through an article from Antiwar.com and having a discussion about it.
Regardless, within an hour of submitting., we received this rejection of the appeal (below).
Did someone at YouTube REALLY look at a 40 minute long video THAT FAST and decide, definitively, that this video 100% was in violation of their “Misinformation” policy? It’s also funny that YouTube decided not tell us what they thought was “misinformation.”
Thankfully, we didn’t get hit with a more “extreme” penalty, like our ability to upload/stream/post, or complete removal of our channel. They only decided to censor this one video and not penalize us further.
WHY?
Why remove it and not tell us what part is misinformation?
Not that we want this to happen - but, why would YouTube simply remove it, but issue no further penalty (if we did violate their “misinformation” policy)?
There are literally thousands of videos on YouTube that likely say the exact same thing Reef and Collin did. Know how we know? The original livestream this clip was taken from IS STILL UP, UNEDITED, WITH THE FULL CLIP INCLUDED. 🤦🤦♂️
